Technical QA lead

Frogmind is an award-winning independent mobile games studio from Helsinki founded in 2012. We are best known for our games BADLAND, BADLAND 2, Badland Brawl, Rumble Stars and Rumble Hockey which have garnered over 150 million players and have won multiple industry awards including App Store iPad Game of the Year and Apple Design award. We have grown from an indie duo into a studio of 30 talented developers.

Our games have been noted for their beauty, thoughtful game design, simple mechanics and top notch gameplay. These are all values we are planning to keep, and take even further in our future games.

We are looking for a technical QA lead.

Each member of our teams has a lot of influence, and thus needs to be great at what they do. We expect you to have great communication skills (written), a positive and driven personality that wants to help, we hope you enjoy learning new things, get a kick out of finding ways to do things better, and to have a dynamic can-do- attitude.


  • Work with developers to define acceptance criteria, identify risks, and plan testing coverage for upcoming features & releases
  • Coordinate test efforts between geographically distributed freelancers to deliver the highest quality product
  • Test new updates for the live product on mobile & web platforms
  • Manage test plans/test suites in a dynamic & fast-paced environment
  • Analyse and troubleshoot reported defects and internal issues
  • Develop major testing initiatives using a combination of process, people, and effective testing methodologies
  • Ensure that automation efforts are moving forward effectively and efficiently

Requirements, expected skills and stats:

  • 7+ years of Software Quality Assurance experience
  • Technical Background – Able to contribute to day-to-day testing/engineering efforts
  • Experience working with and testing for multiple Platforms (Desktop, Mobile, Consoles)
  • A deep understanding of defect reporting, version control, and configuration management best practices
  • General experience with automation best practices and development tools
  • Ability to prioritize and work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to thrive while working in a fast-paced working environment
  • Extensive history / knowledge of playing games
  • Good communication skills in English
